The Battle of the Books Competition is Underway Again!

What is Battle of the Books?

Battle of the Books is a national reading incentive program for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in grades 5-8. Students read books and come together in groups to demonstrate their abilities and to test their knowledge of the books they have read. The purpose of Battle of the Books is to promote literacy and to foster a spirit of academic competition, good sportsmanship, and to encourage critical thinking skills.

Diller Odell's Jesse from 6th grade has begun his 2nd year of competing in this program.  Jesse's group was successful the week of January 11-15, and they have moved on to the finals round.  If they are successful the week of January 25-29, they will move on to the national level of competition. Keep up the great work Jesse!
