First Grade Astronomy Explorers
Launch the media gallery 1 playerOur first graders have had an exciting few weeks of discovery! During their reading block, students have been learning all about astronomy and exploring the wonders of our solar system, our home in space.
They were introduced to the Sun, stars, Moon, and all the planets, discovering how each one fits into the solar system and how the planets are positioned in relation to the Sun and Earth. Students also learned about Earth's orbit around the Sun and how Earth’s rotation on its axis creates the cycle of day and night.
It has been an inspiring journey as our young astronomers continue to build their curiosity and understanding of the universe around them. To bring their learning to life, students also created models of the Sun and the planets, illustrating how they rotate and orbit through space.
