Miss Reba Hestermann

My name is Miss Reba Hestermann. This will be my 4th year teaching but my 1st year as a Griffin! Before making my way to Diller-Odell Public Schools, I was a 5th grade teacher with an emphasis in science and volleyball coach at Crofton Community Schools. I really enjoyed my time there but it was time for me to come back closer to home. I was born and raised in Sterling, Nebraska. At Sterling Public Schools I was a very active student. I was involved in all sports and many other clubs and activities. I graduated in 2011, and then attended Doane College for my undergraduate degree, which I received an Elementary and Middle school teaching degree. While at Doane I was very busy as well with playing college softball and being a student athletic trainer for the football and basketball team. In December 2017, I received my Masters Degree from Doane University in Curriculum and Instruction. In my free time I like to exercise and be outside. I also enjoy hanging out with friends and family as well. I like being around my family farm too. You have heard lots of personal information about me but I have not told you how I am as a teacher. I believe in active, hands on learning. I also make sure that my classroom is a safe environment for discovery and exploration. My main goal as a teacher is help each student grow as an individual. I am so excited to start my teaching journey here at Diller-Odell Public Schools. Attached below is a short introduction video about me.
