2. Instruction and Related Items

2.1. Student Report
No student report was available.

2.2. Principal Report
Principal Mezger reported on recent inservice and conferences.  He also shared information on the upcoming 5-year school Improvement visit and information on Special Programs.

3. Personnel Items
Superintendent Meyerle reported that Daniel Craven had been hired as a new elementary custodian.  Joyce Carpenter is transitioning to the kitchen.  He also reported that Brittney Kotas had given her resignation as school nurse, effective at the end of the school year.  The school will advertise for the opening in the coming weeks.  The Board and Administration thanks Mrs. Kotas for her service to the school district and wishes her well.

Superintendent Meyerle noted that the school will be looking to save money on facilities this summer.  Other than minor repairs, cleaning and painting, no facility work will be scheduled.

5. Superintendent Items

5.1. Superintendent Report
Superintendent Meyerle and the Board offered a special thanks to Toni Landenberger for her 4 teams of service on the school board.  Her dedication and professionalism were very much appreciated.

A copy of the 2021-2022 Annual Report was provided to the Board.  It will be posted on the school website in the coming weeks.

Superintendent Meyerle again stressed to the Board that the school will be looking to limit spending with new finance laws and the increases in staff costs (salary and benefits).  He will be looking at any changes and reductions this spring.

Mr. Garcia, Mr. Larsen and Mr. Nun are in the beginning stages of scheduling a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) trip to Orlando.  The trip would be at the cost of the students and would provide learning opportunities in STEM.  A trip if approved, would be in the summer of 2024.

7. Board of Education Items
The Board reviewed suggested committee assignments from Superintendent Meyerle.  Those assignments would be made at the January meeting.

7.1. Review Superintendent contract
The Board reviewed Superintendent Meyerle's contract.  The contract will roll over until June 30, 2025.
