This past school year we completed a very successful 1^st year with our new Fed from the Farm program for Diller Odell Schools.  We had 9 local producers provide home grown beef and pork for the program, and over 22 cash donors that covered the cost for the processing, which was all completed at Diller Locker.  These supporters were honored in March with an appreciation meal and award recognition night.  Local meat was served through the lunch program at  Diller Odell Schools 1-3 times a week for the entire school year. The response that the kids and staff have shown is only positive. The kids enjoyed the meals and brag how good the meat tastes and the cooks have been creative to offer choices that the kids enjoy. We look forward in the future to continue with this awesome program and expand on more education aspects for the kids to learn more about why agriculture is important.
