5th Grader's Native American Homes
Wattle and Daub
The 5th Graders just finished learning about the Native Americans that lived throughout the United States. These included the regions of the Plains, Eastern Woodlands, Southwest, and Northwest Coast. They learned about some of the tribes and why these people lived in these areas. As an ending project, chose a type of Native American home to build. They then had to find out some information about these home. Some of the questions were; What Native American tribe would have used this home, Where were they located, Why and what types of materials would they use to build this home. The students found out lots of good information and their models were very well made.
