District FFA Leadership Contest
The Diller-Odell FFA Chapter competed in the District 5 Leadership Contest held in Aurora. The event provides members the opportunity to practice and develop their speaking and parliamentary procedure skills and knowledge.
The junior parliamentary procedure team, made up of Theresa Zarybnicky, Katie Schultis, Cody Scheele, Bailey Schroeder, Joslyn Edmond, Madison Jurgens, and Reese Hennerberg placed first in the event which qualified them for the state competition in the spring. They were required to take a written exam, present a demonstration of various parliamentary procedure motions provided by the judges, and answer oral questions about parliamentary procedure from the judges. A second junior division team consisting of Katie Zarybnicky, Madison Hajek, Corina Lottman, Elliot Sasse, Brandon Rickers, Christian McCown, and Cory Engelman received a red ribbon. The senior parliamentary procedure team consisted of Shane Meyer, Dylan Hamel, Kai Wendland, Camille Hennerberg, Calvin Hennerberg, and Micheal Beall also earned a red.
Resse Hennerberg and Joslyn Edmond also participated in the Creed Speaking Competition where they recited the FFA Creed and answered questions from the judges. They both received a blue. Shlya Goldsberry served as a judge’s assistant for the contests.
