Dear Parent/Guardians of Diller-Odell Athletes,
The off-season is upon us and the staff at Diller-Odell cannot wait to build for success in the 2025-2026 seasons. We are sending out this letter for several reasons. Firstly, we cannot stress enough how important participation in off-season conditioning is to the success of our programs. We must continually strive to improve throughout the summer, fall, winter and spring. With that being said, attitude, effort and commitment to getting better are valued in our programs above everything, including athletic ability.
1. There will be three weight training sessions offered each day starting June 2nd. The training sessions will be divided as such: High School Boys 6 AM- 7 AM, High School Girls 7 AM – 8 AM and an Open/Junior High Session 8 AM – 9 AM. The Diller facility will be open to Junior High Students with sessions from 7 AM – 8 AM and 8 AM – 9 AM. The Diller Facility will be closed on Fridays.
2. Each training session athletes will participate in speed, agility and jump training that will be followed by an off-season training program. The program works closely in accordance with our in-season training that takes place during the Diller-Odell school year.
3. There are 10 weeks/50 days in our summer weight training schedule. Each student is encouraged to participate in a training session 4 days a week or 40 days total over the summer. Minimum attendance for each athlete is 75% (30 days) of training. Athletes who do not make the required 75% may be required to make up sessions prior to the start of their specific season.
4. There will also be an Open Gym session for Girls/Boys Basketball, Football and Volleyball that athletes are encouraged to attend each week. These sessions are paramount to the success and development of our athletic programs. The Open Gym sessions are for both Junior High and High School Athletes.
Boys Basketball – Monday
Volleyball – Tuesday
Girls Basketball – Wednesday
Football - Thursday
There will also be weekly communication between coaches and parents/guardians. The thought behind this is so you know the expectations each week in the weight room, your child’s attendance and schedule changes of training, open gyms or camps. For weekly updates please sign up by emailing cschluter@dillerodell.org.
We strive to following the program's motto:
"Every Day and Every Way, We Get a Little Better!"
Thank You,
High School Coaches
Coach Schluter
Congratulations to Myleigh and Teghan! Between the two of them, they qualified five events at State Track and brought home five medals, including a State Championship for Myleigh in the 800m! Myleigh also set two new school records! We are proud of you both!

The Welding Class & FFA Members have been working on a 2nd FFA Welcome sign, as part of a final project. Welding Students cut, lined up, welded the entire frame. The frame was sent to 4G Powder Coating in Wymore. Afterwards, FFA Members helped with the assembly of the sign. They all did a great job!
Mr. Nun
Golf for the Griffins is right around the corner. This year, the tournament will be held on August 2, 2025, at Hidden Acres Golf Course in Beatrice, NE. We are limiting the tournament to the first 36 teams to be entered. We are currently looking for donations to be used as silent auction/raffle items, along with donations for flag prizes or gifts. We have different sponsorships available, many including team entry. You do not have to be a business to have your name on a hole sponsorship. If interested, please reach out to Devin Garcia. We hope to see you all there to raise money for Griffin extracurricular activities.

The Diller Odell Robotics team won its 5th straight ESU 5 Robotics Championship this year. As the year comes to an end I would like to thank everyone that has had a hand in making the year a success in Mr. Garcia's Science Classroom. We want to thank everyone that spent time helping us get ready for the competition. This was the first year we entered two teams into the competition and each did very well. One team finished 4th overall and the other came out on top as Champions. This year the teams consisted of Andrew Hawks, Creighton Heideman, Josh Landon, Griffin Zabokrtsky, Zach Schnuelle, Libby Huwalt, Lanie Newby, and Hannah Penner.
Mr. Garcia
Kimber is our May Student of the Month. She exemplifies dedication, kindness, and a strong work ethic both inside and outside the classroom. Kimber consistently demonstrates a positive attitude and is always helpful and supportive of her peers. These things make a meaningful impact on our classroom and school community. We are proud of Kimber’s achievements and look forward to seeing her continue to excel. Keep up the fantastic work and congratulations, Kimber!
