American & Modern History Students still memorizing U.S. Presidents

High school students in two sections of American History and one section of Modern History are continuing their memorization skills of all U.S. Presidents.  This practice started when they were in 8 th Grade, and will continue until they graduate (that is if they take all American History courses that are offered). The American History classes have memorized through President # 28 [Woodrow Wilson] while the Modern History class has memorized through President # 32 [Franklin D. Roosevelt]. Eventually, the hope is that all 46 Presidents in U.S. History will stay in the memories of our students. Each class studies four Presidents at a time, and they have a rhyme that helps them to remember names. For example for the 1st four Presidents…the rhyme is Wash, Ad, Jeff, Mad representing George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison. Students are then quizzed over the names, with four new Presidents added each time. As these History classes get closer to completing their studies, more names of U.S. Presidents have to be remembered!
