Fall Activities are in Full Swing

Our fall seasons are in full swing, in fact Softball postseason will start soon.  This is definitely a time like no other, and I am thankful that we have been able to participate in activities this year.  I thank our parents and fans for following the protocols that have been set, it has helped to keep the seasons going.   The NSAA has set forth rules to be followed for all postseason competitions.  Those can be found elsewhere on our school website.

I was able to watch the first competitions for Softball, Volleyball and Football.  The most encouraging thing to me is the improvement that I have seen our teams make.  I am truly impressed at some of the improvement I have seen, both as individuals and as a team.  I am anxious to see how we compete during the postseason tournaments, which start already next week for our softball team.

I also want to talk a bit about crowd behavior, especially directed at officials.  As you may have heard, we are starting to see a decline in the number of high school officials.  There are many reasons for this, one of which is the words and actions of a few fans.  Please remember that officials are human and will make a mistake once in a while.  I have observed that in the instances where a few fans get really loud and upset, the officials call was right.  Remember, it only takes one or two ‘bad apples’ to give a false perception of the whole fan base.
