Constitution Day

On Sept. 17, the 8th Grade Social Studies class recognized Constitution Day at the high school in Odell.  During the last half of 5th Period several 8th Graders challenged the rest of the students/staff in the building by announcing history trivia questions over the loud-speaker.  These questions were about the making of the U.S. Constitution back in 1787.  A question was asked, a few seconds were allowed for everyone to think about their answer, then the correct answer was given.

Here is one example of a question asked > Which famous delegate to the Constitutional Convention is considered the “Father of the Constitution”……. the correct answer is James Madison, because he kept very detailed notes while the meetings in Philadelphia were being held.  He was also the 4th President of the United States and the shortest-ever President, standing only 5’4.

A bonus trivia question was also asked:  What D-O staff member celebrates a birthday on Constitution Day…….the answer is former Social Studies teacher and current Guidance Counselor Rita Becker

Thank-you 8th Graders for helping everyone to remember Constitution Day!
