Eighth Grade American History

The 8th Graders are beginning to learn the history of all the U.S. Presidents in Social Studies class.  They study and memorize the Presidents in numerical order, and they do so four at a time.  The students learn a rhyme to help them remember each President.  Again, they memorize the rhyme in chunks of four…..for example, the rhyme of the very first Presidents is Wash, Ad, Jeff, Mad.

If the 8th Graders take American History classes later-on during their high school years, they will eventually learn the history of all 45 (or maybe more) U.S. Presidents in proper order, having to remember their first & last names.
