Physics and Applied Science Classes to Steele Flats Wind Farm
Students from Mr. Arnold's Physics and Mr. Ropers's Applied Science classes toured the Steele Flats Wind energy farm on Wednesday, October 9th. 44 towers, each capable of generating 1.75 megawatt hours of electricity are being completed, enough energy to supply 19,000 homes.
Energy from the wind towers is sent to Steele City substation and sold to NPPD (Nebraska Public Power District). The cost for each tower is around $2.5 million.
