I.c. Approve minutes of last meeting  

Motion Passed:  Motion to approve minutes of last meeting passed with a motion by Jill Scheele and a second by Dean Engelman.

II. Instruction and Related Items  

II.a. Principal’s Report  

Dr. Prososki provided a written report which included information on the district's Multicultural Education Report and a textbook purchasing schedule.

II.b. Student Report  

Corina Lottman reported on recent student activities which included; track, MUDECAS music, Prom, golf and an upcoming blood drive.  She noted recent student successes at State Speech, State FFA and Quiz Bowl.

II.c. Revise Policy 5055 Enrollment in Kindergarten  

Motion Passed:  To use the Kindergarten Readiness Test as the instrument to gauge early admission to Kindergarten; passed with a motion by Dean Engelman and a second by Toni Landenberger.

III. Personnel Items  

III.a. Re-elect certificated staff for 2016-17  

Motion Passed:  To re-elect certificated staff with the exception for those whom have resigned or have been given notice of non-renewal; passed with a motion by Jill Scheele and a second by Toni Landenberger.

III.b. Approve Classified Personnel Wages for 2016-17  

Mr. Meyerle suggested a 3% raise in classified wages unless otherwise noted.

Motion Passed:  For a 3% increase in classified wages for 2016-17 passed with a motion by Dean Engelman and a second by Toni Landenberger.

IV. Support Service  

IV.a. Technology Update  

Dr. Prososki provided a written technology report which included technology request for 2016-17.  The request included purchases of additional MacBook laptops and Smart Boards.

IV.b. Facility Update  

Mr. Meyerle reported on the status of the fitness center in Odell.  It is on track to be open by mid-June.  It will not open earlier due to the schedule for the flooring and equipment delivery.  He noted that $24,000 had been donated thus far by community members for equipment.

The Board discussed a bus shelter project, but is not interested at this time unless it could be used on a daily basis by drivers.  This is problematic based upon where drivers begin and end their daily routes.  Mr. Meyerle will look into other possible options for sheltering buses in the summer.

Mr. Meyerle reported that contracts to certified staff would be going out the next week.

VII. Board of Education Items  

VII.a. Committee Reports  

The Board inquired about the possibility of streaming athletic contests next year.  Mr. Meyerle will look into the possibility.

Chad Lottman and Paul Kostal gave an update on the NRCSA Convention.

VII.b. Approve Sale of Garage at High School  

Motion Passed:  The Board authorizes Superintendent Meyerle to sell the garage on the HS property to the highest offer; Passed with a motion by Dean Engelman and a second by Paul Kostal.

Vice President Lottman adjourned the meeting at 8:30pm.  The next regular meeting is scheduled for May 9, 2016 at 7:30pm at the elementary school in Diller.
