Pioneer Conference Music Events
The Pioneer Conference holds two music events a year, Pioneer Conference Choir Clinic and Pioneer Honor Band. Each event rotates through the conference schools so all directors at the schools host at some given time.
On Monday, November 6 the Pioneer Conference Choir clinic will be held at Tri County. Mr. Mike Morris, adjunct music education instructor at Doane University and retired vocal music director from Crete Public Schools is this year’s the clinician. Each school’s choir participates in the clinic. The students rehearse in the afternoon and perform an evening concert for the public at 7:00 p.m. The following Diller-Odell students will be performing in the concert: Kyleigh Barnts, Tara Barth, Bradley Blake, Hollie Crawford, Addison Heidemann, Ashtyn Humphreys, Connor Klecan, Melina Kostal, Faith Novotny, Samantha Rickers, Kelsay Schlichtman, Jadyn Schultis, Tori Smith, Mackenzie Vitosh, Brianna Weers, and Neleigh Weers.
Other schools participating at Tri County are: Friend, Lewiston, Southern, Sterling, and Tri County. This clinic gives the students an amazing opportunity to perform in a large choir and experience choir in a different way.
The other host site is Johnson-Brock and the other conference schools will perform there.
The Pioneer Honor Band will be held on Monday, January 15 at Lewiston. Dr. Christopher Unger, conductor at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD and Eastman School of Music graduate will be the clinician for the students. Students are selected by the music directors in the conferences to attend. Diller-Odell students that will be participating in the honor band are:

The honor band will perform their concert at 7 p.m.
Other schools involved at the Lewiston site are: Tri County, Southern, Pawnee City, Lewiston, and Friend. The other host site is Lordes Central Cathlic schools.
