Basketball Fundamentals in Elementary PE
The past two weeks second through sixth grade have been focusing on the fundamentals of basketball. The students began with the fundamentals of dribbling a basketball, chest/bounce passes, and will finish the week working on form shooting. The improvement and confidence in students' abilities are always great to see. Basketball is a game that was near and dear to my heart as I was growing up so passing on the knowledge of the game to our students is always a bright spot in my year.
Also, thank you to the Diller-Odell Youth Sports Organization for purchasing new Baden basketballs for their youth basketball teams. Having the correct size of basketball for each student makes a difference in their development.
