Griffin Speech Results

Diller-Odell qualified two speakers for the NSAA Championships at the District C2-1 meet at HTRS March 13th.   Corina Lottman was the district champion in Extemporaneous Speaking and Ashley Yocum placed 2nd in Poetry.  Several other Griffins medaled:  Corina Lottman placed 5th in Informative Speaking, Joslyn Edmond placed 4th in Entertainment Speaking, Melina Kostal placed 5th in Extemporaneous Speaking, Paige Arnold placed 5th in Serious Interpretation, and the OID team of Paige Arnold, Ryan Arnold, Caleb Schultis and Adam Schultis placed 5th. As a team, the Griffins placed 5th at Districts. The state competition will take place Friday, March 24th at UNK. Good luck to Corina and Ashley!

Diller-Odell hosted the Pioneer meet March 6th and several Griffins earned medals.  Corina Lottman placed 4th in Extemporaneous Speaking and 5th in Informative Speaking. The OID team of Paige Arnold, Ryan Arnold, Caleb Schultis and Adam Schultis placed 4th.  Melina Kostal placed 5th in Extemporaeous Speaking, and Ashely Yocum placed 6th in Poetry.

Three Griffins came home with medals from the HTRS meet on February 25th.  Kelsay Schlicthman placed 6th in Entertainment Speaking, Faith Novotny placed 6th in Poetry, and Spencer Schmidt placed 6th in Persuasive Speaking.

Eleven medals were brought home from the Meridian meet on February 11th.  Corina Lottman placed 1st in Extemporaneous Speaking and 1st in Informative Speaking; Joslyn Edmond placed 2nd in Humorous and 4th in Entertainment Speaking; the OID placed 3rd (Paige Arnold, Adam Schultis, Caleb Schultis, Spencer Schmidt); Spencer Schmidt placed 3rd in Improv; Stephanie Rosales placed 3rd in Informative Speaking; Paige Arnold placed 4th in Serious; Kelsay Schlichtman placed 5th in Entertainment Speaking; Haley Reiman placed 5th in Serious; and the Duet placed 5th (Blaine Fisser and Christian Edmond).

Three more team members placed at the Beatrice Meet on February 4th.  Corina Lottman placed 2nd in Extemporaneous Speaking, Stephanie Rosales placed 4th in Informative Speaking and Camaryn Gydesen placed 6th in Informative Speaking.

The MUDECAS meet was held January 28th at SCC.  Several Griffins placed at the meet.  Melina Kostal placed 2nd in Extemporaneous Speaking; Corina Lottman placed 3rd in Extemporaneous Speaking and 5th in Informative Speaking; Ashley Yocum placed 4th in Poetry; Kelsay Schlicthman placed 5th in Entertainment Speaking; and the OID of Paige Arnold, Ryan Arnold, Caleb Schultis, and Adam Schulits placed 6th.

The Diller-Odell Speech team started the season at the Thayer Central Meet on January 21st.  Corina Lottman placed 5th in Informative Speaking.  

 

A new team award this year is "The Golden Rooster Award."  This award is given to team members who show excellence at each meet.  The first winner from the MUDECAS meet was Corina Lottman.  The OID team of Spencer Schmidt, Paige Arnold, Ryan Arnold and Caleb Schultis won the award at the Beatrice Meet. The team award for the Meridian meet went to Stephanie Rosales.
