Elementary Student Teachers for Fall of 2013
Amber Gill

Hello All, my name is Amber Gill. I am a student at the University of Nebraska at Kearney majoring in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Special Education. I will be student teaching at Diller-Odell Elementary School in the Special Education classroom with Mrs. Roelfs and the First Grade classroom with Mrs. Skidmore. I am really looking forward to learning so much more information, tools, strategies, and resources that I can take with me to my future classroom. I will be graduating in December with a BachelorâÂÂÂÂs of Arts in Education degree in Elementary Education Field K-6 and Special Education; Mild Moderate K-6. After graduation, I hope to secure a teaching position in the area.
During my experience, I will be living in Fairbury with my husband and daughter. I just recently got married on April 27th to Tyler Gill. We have a daughter named Braylee who will turn two on February 8, 2014. I really love and enjoy being able to experience motherhood, watching her grow and develop, and teaching her new things. I enjoy spending time with family, scrapbooking, shopping, bowling, camping, and athletics. Athletics are my life! I hope someday I may not only help students achieve their goals throughout the classroom, but also through sporting activities by being a coach!
IâÂÂÂÂm anxious and look forward to meeting the staff and students at Diller-Odell Elementary!

Rick Bruna

Hello everyone,
My name is Rick Bruna. I'm going to be student teaching with Justin Larsen in the 5th grade classroom this semester.
I grew up outside of Hanover on a farm with seven siblings. I attended St. John's Catholic school from 1st-8th grades. Next I attended Hanover High School. After graduating high school, I began college at Doane College where I played football . Due to a tear in my ACL, I had to stop playing football and transferred to Southeast Community College for a year. I am now finishing my last two years of school at Peru State College. I will graduate from Peru after completing this semester of student teaching.
I look forward to this new experience and hope to gain the knowledge needed to be a successful teacher. I'm excited to work with the 5th grade students for a fun and exciting semester.
