Working...

My name is Deena Day, and even though I retired from Diller-Odell a year ago: I HAVE RETURNED!! I graduated from Odell High School and earned my Bachelor's Degree in Math Education and Coaching from Kearney State College. While teaching at Lewiston, I earned my Master's Degree in Math Education from Peru State College. After teaching at Lewiston for 7 years, I moved to southeast Kansas, where I taught and coached at both the college and high school levels. I thoroughly enjoy teaching at the high school level more than at the college level, so I only stayed at the college level for 5-6 years before getting back to high school. I moved back to Odell in 2014, where I am living on the farm I grew up on. I subbed for a few years before accepting a teaching job here at DOHS. I taught Math 7-12 for 5 years, and then retired in 2025. I subbed for a year before being asked to return to teach the College Algebra Dual Credit course through SCC. I enjoy spending time with friends, traveling, attending sporting events, and, of course, spending time with my family. My oldest daughter, Misty, lives in Marianna, Florida, where her husband coaches Women's Basketball at Chipola College. They have 3 kids. My 2nd daughter, Mindy, lives in Kincaid, KS, and is an elementary teacher and coaches volleyball. Mindy and her husband have 4 kids. My son, Tyler, is a county deputy for Anderson County, KS. He is not married and doesn't have any kids. |
