1. Open Meeting

The absences of Angie Clifford and Kolin Kotas were excused.

2.1. Principal Report
Principal Mezger reported on assessment results, 2021 graduation activities, the fall Kindergarten class, state reporting, and the 2021-22 testing proposal.

2.2. Review Anti Bullying Policy #5054 and Multicultural Policy #6020
The Board reviewed policies #5054 and #6020

2.3. Revise Policy #5014 Homeless Students

Motion to revise policy #5014 as requested by NDE Passed with a motion by Adam Engelman and a second by Dusty Duis.

Superintendent Meyerle reported that Joyce Carpenter has been hired as an elementary custodian.

Superintendent Meyerle noted that he was still waiting on the outside of the old HS gym to be painted and for the work to be done on the roof edging.
He also noted that Diode Technologies would have a 15 minute presentation at the July meeting on their threat Extinguisher product.

 

5. Superintendent Items

5.1. Superintendent Report
Superintendent Meyerle reported that the district is set to receive $134,466 in ESSER III funds.  Technology expense is easily approved, and he plans to spread the funds over three years for technology needs.
Superintendent Meyerle will be reviewing necessary policy updates from KSB School Law in the next month.  The Board will take action on updates at the July meeting.

President Kostal adjourned the meeting at 7:55pm.

The next regular Board meeting is scheduled for 7:30pm, July 12, 2021 at the High School Media Center in Odell.  A public hearing on the Student Fee Policy will be held at 7:20pm and a public hearing on the Parental Involvement Policy will be held at 7:25pm.
