USDA Issues Child Nutrition Response Wavier Extension
On August 31, the USDA issued COVID-19 Child Nutrition Response Waiver #56 and eight other waiver extensions. Waiver #56 allows School Food Authorities (SFA’s) to provide free meals to all students (on-site, hybrid-learning, remote) through the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) effective September 1, 2020 and ending December 31, 2020.
Due to this announcement, all students at Diller-Odell Public Schools may eat free breakfast and lunch at school from September 14 through the end of the first semester, or until funds run out. This does not include seconds, etc. No action is needed from families, as this will automatically take effect starting Sept. 14th.
