Mrs. Marlys Koch
|Hi, I am Marlys Koch, the new school nurse for Diller/Odell School. I have lived in the district for the past 36 years. My husband, Arlin and I have three children, Tim who graduated in 2001, Troy who graduated in 2003, and Teri Ann who graduated in 2008, all from this school. I have a baby grand daughter, Heidi and enjoy babysitting. I live east of Odell on Hwy. 8. We have a family farm and my husband and sons drive truck for the Koch Trucking family business.
I graduated from SCC nursing program and have worked in nursing for the past 38 years. I started working as a nurse aid at Beatrice Community Hospital and through that experience, I knew I wanted to be a nurse. After graduation from SCC, I worked at the hospital in various departments, most recently in Home Health. I have also had the experience of working as a dental assistant, and podiatry clinic nurse. In addition to this school nurse position, I am the school nurse for Southern Schools. By far, school nursing is my favorite because I enjoy working with children and educating them about the importance of their health and how their choices will affect them for the rest of their lives.
I look forward to getting to know all the students and their families. Please feel free to contact me or stop in when I am at school. I will be happy to visit with you.
