2.1. Student Report

 

There was no student report.

 

2.2. Principal Report

 

Mr. Mezger reported of an upcoming continuous improvement workshop that he and some staff will be attending. He also reported on PTC attendance.  It was 79% in 2018, compared to 84% in 2017 and 79% in 2016.​​​​​​​

 

2.3. Review School Calendar for 2019-2020

 

Superintendent Meyerle gave the Board a draft of the 2019-20 school calendar.  He noted that things would fall back several days next year due to the NSAA calendar. Graduation in 2019 is Saturday, May 11, but graduation in 2020 will be Saturday, May 16. The Board will look to adopt a calendar in February.

4.1. Technology Update

 

Mr. Mezger reported that students in grades 5-8 recently attended the Nebraska Digital Citizenship Symposium. Speakers set the stage for student discussions and activities that will identify the responsibilities of digital citizenship and how our students can promote good digital citizenship in our communities.​​​​​​​

 

4.2. Facility Update

 

Superintendent Meyerle noted that he wanted to pursue hard surfacing some of the parking area in the west lot of the elementary.  This would be a project for the summer.

5.1. Superintendent Report

 

Superintendent Meyerle distributed a gym repayment schedule to the Board and how he would use the Special Building Fund to make the yearly payments.

 

He noted that Caspers/Sampson personnel were pleased with the sub bids that were due.

 

The school had the annual financial audit September 28, and will have the annual safety audit October 10.

 

Some Board members will attend the annual School Board Conference in Omaha November 14-16.

 

Superintendent Meyerle discussed having a Board workshop once the November election has taken place. The workshop would give current Board members and new Board members a chance to discuss future considerations of the school district.
