Dot Celebration!

International Dot Day was celebrated in each elementary art class September 10th through September 14th.  Art Students created individual dots that were their own personal creations.  Art students then collaborated to create images that showed how working together can lead to accomplishing great things!  Kindergarten created a butterfly, 1st a Sunflower, 2nd a fish, 3rd a turtle, 4th-5th flowing dots, and 6th a giant sea wave!  K-6 students also created dots on special paper using iPads and the Quiver app.  Special papers were printed and individual dots were again created.  The Quiver app allowed the students to make their dots 3 dimensional, bounce, spin, roll through a maze, pop like bubbles, and snap!  There were even more fun things the students could do with their dot and the Quiver app!  International Dot Day is celebrated the middle of September around the world to emphasize the importance of childhood creativity and self esteem.  It was a lot of fun to see the students enjoying their creations and using the app!
