Strong Start for the Griffins in Fall Sports
Diller-Odell athletics has had an eventful beginning to sports. Our Lady Griffin volleyball team launched the season by playing Pawnee City and Deshler Thursday night at the Freeman Volleyball Tournament. Both games resulted with winning in two sets. Saturday morning they continued the tournament with a 10:00 game against Johnson-Brock, followed by a game against Freeman. Unfortunately, the Lady Griffins finished 2-2 at the tournament. In the following week they played Falls City Sacred Heart and Lewiston. The Lady Griffins came away with stunning wins at both games!
The Griffin football team has also had a lot of success in the beginning of their 2018 season! Defeating Wymore Southern 72-46 was exactly the way the Griffins wanted their season to open. Week two was no disappointment either, drowning Blue Hill, last year’s state runner up, 58-8. The Griffins are in for a very outstanding season!
Now onto the dirt fields. The Diller-Odell and Wymore softball team has had a great season so far! Their only loses were to class B schools and Syracuse. The Lady Raiders traveled to Auburn and Syracuse over the past two weekends and went 3-3 overall. Their regular season games so far include shutting out Fillmore Central and run-ruling Falls City Public. Overall, the Lady Raiders are .500 with a record of 6-6 so far.
