II. Instruction and Related Items  

II.a. Student Report  

There was no student report

II.b. Principal Report  

Dr. Prososki presented a copy of the 2015-2016 annual report.  He gave updates on MAP assessments and NAEP, and special programs enrollment data.

II.c. Request from Fairbury Journal-News to be the official paper for the school  

The Fairbury Journal-News presented information on costs to be the official paper of the school.  A decision will be made at the January Board meeting on the official paper.

IV.a. Technology Update  

Dr. Prososki reported on an upcoming Civil Rights Collection, Hour of Code, Info Tech night and ipad/laptop use for students over Christmas.

IV.b. Facility Update  

Mr. Meyerle noted that bids for the fitness center/locker room project in Diller are due on December 21 at 1:00 p.m.  The bids will be opened at 1:05 p.m.

Mr. Meyerle reported on the bus driver opening and the 7-12 Ag teacher opening.

VII. Board of Education Items  

VII.a. Review of Superintendent Contract  

The Board reviewed Mr. Meyerle's Superintendent contract.  By the contract renewal, his contract will run through June 30, 2020.

VII.b. Committee Reports  

The Board reviewed Committee assignments for 2017. Gary Stohs, Toni Landenberger, and Paul Kostal gave a summary on the recent NASB conference in Omaha.

VII.c. Executive Session  

Motion Passed:  Motion for the Board to enter closed session to evaluate the job performance of an employee and to receive, review, and discuss the legal advice from the school district's attorney. Such a motion is clearly necessary to protect the public's interest, to maintain the attorney-client privilege, and to prevent needless injury to the employee's reputation.  Passed with a motion by Toni Landenberger and a second by Chad Lottman.  Executive session was entered at 8:19 p.m.

President Stohs adjourned the meeting at 9:06 p.m.  The next regular Board meeting is scheduled for January 9, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. at the high school in Odell.
