II. Instruction and Related Items  

II.a. Student Report   

A written student report was supplied for the meeting which included: The HS Quiz Bowl team finished 6th in the all class state tournament; The Art Club went on a field trip to Kansas City on May 9, The 7-12 Fine Arts Show is May 10; District Track is May 11; The grade 4-6 field day will be at the track on May 12; The grade K-3 field day will be in Diller on May 13; Bailey Schroeder and Bladen Ahl were honored at the Sertoma Banquet on April 24; The Seniors went on Senior Sneak on May 5; Golf Districts are May 16; Students in the Spanish Club are set to go to Mexico on May 24.

II.b. Principal's Report  

Dr. Prososki reported on the recent Earth Day celebration on April 20 at the elementary. Diller-Odell Schools was honored to be the site of the event for the USDA Rural Development.

Dr. Prososki also reported on the AQuESTT Conference he attended, the 2016-17 class schedule, data from DIBELS, MAP and NeSA, being selected to the NSASSP Region I Leadership Team, the 2016-17 Opening Day schedule, Post-Graduate Survey results, the creation of a reading handbook, and the creation of a school improvement website.

He also noted that we will have a student teacher in Kindergarten in the fall 2016.

Motion Passed:  Approve hire of Delaney Rees to Preschool teaching position passed with a motion by Chad Lottman and a second by Paul Kostal.

III.c. Discuss Classified Personnel Insurance  

The Board discussed changing the health insurance option of 9 month full time employees to 100% of the premium paid by the school district as opposed to the current 75%.  The Board will consider and have as an action item for the June meeting.

IV.a. Technology Update  

Dr. Prososki reported on iPad/laptop repairs and his upcoming NSSRS reporting.

IV.b. Facility Update  

Mr. Meyerle discussed facility projects for the summer which included finishing some carpet updates at the elementary school, replacing the fence around the ball fields in Diller and the replacement of the south drive/sidewalks at the HS.

He noted facility projects for the Board to consider for 2017 were the building of a fitness center in Diller, which may or may not, include football locker rooms, and the replacement of the windows on the south side of the old part of the elementary building.

Mr. Meyerle noted that the new bus would be delivered this week.  He thanked Dr. Prososki and the Board for a very good year, and noted that Diller-Odell is a very good school.
