State FFA Convention

Cody Scheele of the Diller-Odell FFA Chapter was awarded the state degree during the State FFA Convention held in Lincoln.  The degree is awarded based on total FFA involvement and the quality of the individual’s supervised agricultural experience program. 

The junior parliamentary procedure team consisting of  Kaleb Rupprecht, Jesse Scheele, Kelsay Schlichtman, Adam Schultis, Spencer Schmidt, Ryan Arnold, Bryston Warren received a bronze rating.  They presented a demonstration of parliamentary motions, took a written test, and answered questions from the judges.        

 The state ag skills contests were held in conjunction with the convention.  The Ag Technology and Mechanics team place 2nd; with Bladen Ahl placing 3rd individually from a field of 158 contestants.  Other members of the team were Spencer Schmidt, blue; Caleb Schultis, blue; Adam Schultis, red.  The welding team also made a good showing by placing 2nd.  The team members were:   Cory Engelman, 4th individual in MIG; Cody Scheele, 2nd individual in oxy/ace; and Ethan Rupprecht, blue in arc welding.  The agronomy team received a blue. Members of the team were:  Cody Scheele, purple; Jonathan Schmidt, red; Dylan Wolbert, red; and Reese Hennerberg, red. The farm business management also received a blue at the state contest.  Jesse Scheele received at purple and Theresa Zarybnicky received a blue.  Other members were Adam Schultis and Bladen Ahl.  The meat evaluation team received a blue.  Alexis Craw, Ethan Rupprecht, and Corina Lottman all received blues individually.  Joslyn Edmond received a white.  The floriculture team competed at the state convention as well.  Morgan Phillips received a red ribbon.  Other members of the team were Ashley Yocum, Madison Hajek, and Madison Jurgens.
