High School Quiz Bowl Qualifies for State
The High School Quiz Bowl team took top honors at the ESU 5 quiz bowl on April 1 at Thayer Central High School. They beat Meridian in the championship round. Both teams will advance to the state contest in Holdrege on April 29. Throughout the season, the team has been a top finisher at each competition they have attended. To start the season, the team finished in third place at the Pioneer Conference meet. Following that finish, the team again earned a third place title at the MUDECAS contest. Members of the team are Cody Scheele, Katie Schultis, Tyler Roberts, Adam Schultis, Paige Arnold and Marcus Eickmann. Additional team members are Kai Wendland, Caleb Schultis, Spencer Schmidt, William Scheele and Faith Novotny. Their next competition before state is at Freeman High School on April 19 at 6:00 pm.
