Question:
In Section “1.1 Description of Project” it states “CAT6 cabling terminated with a CAT6 surface mount box at the site of the AP will be provided.”
We did not see a separate RFP for cabling pulling and surface boxes so wanted to confirm that this is NOT a requirement of the vendor for this wireless system RFP.
Answer:
Cabling is NOT part of the wireless RFP. A cabling RFP will be released the first week of February.

Does installation of access points need to be included in the service bid?
Answer:
Yes, installation of the access points should be included in the service bid.
Question:
Are implementation services for the configuration of the wireless network and the mounting of the access points required?
Answer:
Yes.
Question:
What type of ceiling is in each of the areas, Classroom Common Area and Gym?
Answer:
Most are drop ceiling. Some are interlocking tiles. Gym is the normal open ceiling.

Are access points to be mounted above or below the drop ceiling (if that is the type of ceiling)?

What type of Ethernet cabling is installed to support the access points?
Answer:
Will have 1 Cat 6 with a 10 foot service loop at time of installation available. Will require a 1 M CAT 6 patch cable to connect.

Is there a service loop of at least 10’ available for each AP cable to provide for mounting adjustment?

Will you provide a ladder or man-lift as needed for the mounting of the access points if required?

No.

All switches are POE Extreme switches.

Do you have a standardized labeling policy for access points?
Answer:
We do not. We are asking the vendor to label and have the label approved by the District.

How many SSIDs need to be configured?
Answer:
Currently only two. Guest and Staff. May need more in the future.

How many VLANs are on your network?
Answer:
Currently 2. In the future at least 10.

What type of wireless authentication will be used?
Answer:
Connection to district AD for auth.

Aruba 105, 135 AP with a 600 series controller.
