Boys and Girls State Selections Made
Congratulations to Mackenzie Gydesen who has been selected by the Odell Legion Auxiliary to attend Girls State. Camille Hennerberg will serve as an alternate. Lance Lawton and Zach Rash will be attending Boys State and will be sponsored by the Diller Legion. Boys and Girls State is June 1-7 on the UNL campus.
American Legion Boys State and American Legion Auxiliary Girls State are the premier programs for teaching how government works while developing leadership skills and an appreciation for rights as a citizen. As a participant in the program, students will run for office, learn public speaking, create and enforce laws and actively participate in all phases of creating and running a working government. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet other students from across the state, develop leadership, communication skills and confidence that will shape them as future leaders.
