Looking back on my years at Diller-Odell I have nothing but positive thoughts of this time in my life. Many people cannot relate to the atmosphere and lifestyle of a small community, but I would not have had it any other way. I feel as if Diller-Odell provided an environment that fostered people to be successful. The teachers, coaches and communities are second to none in the state; these people along with my experiences while attending Diller-Odell taught me to be responsible, dedicated, and determined. My upbringing and the education I received from this school built a strong foundation that allowed me to achieve the goals I had set for myself. When I tell people where I am from, they have nothing but good things to say about the communities and the school system, and I couldn’t agree more.
After graduating in 2005 from Diller-Odell, I attended the University of Nebraska-Kearney, where I graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. I went on to attend Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO, graduating in 2013 with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree. Upon graduation, I worked as a traveling physical therapist for Cariant Health Partners of Omaha working in southwest Kansas. I recently accepted a position at Jefferson Community Health Center Rehabilitation and Sports Clinic in Fairbury. My wife, Cathleen, a native of Central City, NE, attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, graduating in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Exercise and Health Science. She currently attends Inter-American University of Puerto Rico, School of Optometry in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Cathleen is finishing her last 6 months of externship in Dallas, TX and will graduate in June with her Doctorate of Optometry degree. We currently live in Beatrice.
