Dr. Seuss Week at the Elementary

by Vanessa McMurray, Hillary Kostal, and Brianna Hajek

March 10, 2010

"The more that you read, the more that  you will know. The more that you know, the more places you'll go."-Dr. Seuss.  Last week the elementary celebrated Dr. Seuss's 106th birthday. Monday was Hat's Off to Reading Day, everyone came to school with their favorite hat. Also on Monday, a reading ranger came from the Homestead to read to the children. Tuesday was Snuggle Up with a Good Book, everyone wore their pajamas to school (comfy!).  Wednesday was Wacky Wednesday, everyone wore their wackiest outfits.  They started the day off by listening to a story read by The Cat in the Hat.  They celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday with cake in the gym and partnered up to enjoy one of his many excellent stories.  The cooks also made special lunches everyday like One Fish Two
Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, Augratin Not Rotten Potatoes, Yertle the Turtle, Eggs, Sneetches Peaches, and Milk from Mr. Brown's Cow.
