Introduction to College Ag Academy at SCC

Ten students attended the College Agriculture Academy at SCC in Beatrice. The Academy is going to be available to Juniors and Seniors next fall. The students that attended were Kolin Scheele, Colton Rupprecht, Parker Jones, Ashley Probst, Ralph Reyna III, Gunnar Lichty, Andy Adam, Ethan Weers, Quint Bolejack, and Derrick Grabowski.
At the introduction, Mark Goes gave us a brief description of all the classes that were going to be covered by the academy. Then a student panel of six current students enrolled in the various Ag programs offered at SCC, answered some of questions. After questioning the student panel, we meet the teachers. After meeting with them, we had lunch.
As the Career Academy was winding down we were offered to go the Ag Expo at the Truman Center on campus. We accepted the offer. We walked around the various booths and listened to the keynote speaker, Roe Mussel, talk about how to make your farm more profitable. After the listening to the speaker we returned to school.
