University of Nebraska-Lincoln Chapter of Phi Delta Kapp

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa, est. 1914, is offering two (2) $250 scholarship opportunities to high school seniors planning to become elementary, middle level, secondary classroom, special education, or english language learner (ELL) teachers. Other scholarships worth over $1,000 are also available at www.pdkintl.org/ . PDK is a professional honorary for educators that fosters service to the greater community, research, leadership, and scholarship toward enhancing education. This email is being sent to representatives of approximately 63 schools that are in the PDK Chapter 0015 region.
Please print the attached application and make it available to seniors who are interested in the field of education. Entries must be postmarked by Friday, April 9, 2010. Winners of the two scholarships will be contacted by Wednesday, May 5. The recipients are required to attend the Monday, June 7, 2010 award ceremony in Lincoln, Nebraska (details to be provided). The scholarship money will be deposited at the student’s college during the Fall 2010 semester.
The scholarship applications must include: a completed application form including two essay responses, a high school transcript, and two letters of recommendation.
